Saving Forever The Ever Trilogy Book 3 edition by Jasinda Wilder Literature Fiction eBooks

I have to start by saying this is probably one of the most difficult reviews I have written to-date. Jasinda Wilder has quickly become one of my all-time favorite authors, you know, the ones you stop and read as soon as a book is published, but, I am very conflicted with this series, and specifically the final book.

First, please indulge me, as I start with my personal thoughts and opinion. I loved, loved the first book, Forever and Always. Caden's and Ever's love story was amazing and very original. Falling Into You has such a personal meaning in my life and will always be my number one Jasinda Wilder book because of that, however, Forever and Always is probably her best work to-date. It was that amazing. I could not put it down. I loved it and could not wait to start book two, After Forever. Then After Forever broke my heart. Literally broke my heart.

I have to say I have never, ever, ever hated a fictional character as much as I hated (hate) Eden. I mean I actually hate her. With all of my being, I hate her. And that is saying a lot, considering I have been reading since I was 13 and its been many, many decades since then. :) I am not saying Cade is innocent. His choices were horrible and he has to live with them. But Eden, she knew better, she was her sister, he was her sister's husband, and Ever as in a coma. IN A COMA! And she always resented Ever. In my own little opinion, she took advantage of Cade.

CAUTION BEFORE YOU CONTINUE, BECAUSE THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD...so you can skip down for my actual review if you DO NOT WANT TO READ ANY SPOILERS:

I do not in any way feel Eden deserved her HEA. Not at all and not especially in this book. This should of been's Ever's and Cade's story back to each other. I am not saying Eden did not ever deserve her HEA, I am just saying I did not feel she deserved it in this book and she sure as hell did not deserve anyone as wonderful as Carter. She could have had her own book, further on down the line, a few years after Ever found out. I just felt she did not deserve it. Again just my personal opinion. Also, I felt very robbed at missing out on Eden and Ever's talk after she came back. That was a HUGE event in this story and we did not get it. Eden slept with her husband, how did she explain it? She owed Ever that. Also, I felt it wrong that it ended with Carter and Eden and not with Ever and Cade. This series to me was ultimately about Ever and Cade. Eden was just a mistake and should not have had the ending. I know we got the epilogue, but I still felt robbed, like something was missing.

OKAY END OF MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS AND OPINION AND INCLUSION OF SPOILERS, ACTUAL REVIEW FOLLOWS...

After saying all that, I have to take a step back and say, regardless of my own personal opinion, no matter how strong they are, Jasinda Wilder is an amazing storyteller. The emotions she puts into her writing touches her readers, be it in happiness, anger, desperation or anger. We may not like the way she told her story, but that is our personal opinion, the story itself moves you. Yes, I know many are moved in anger, but regardless. she makes you feel. She makes you react. This book, as did the entire series moves you through so many emotions, you are left exhausted.

In this book, we see the POV of Ever, Cade, Eden and Carter. I have expressed above how I felt about Carter and Eden, but regardless, it was heartbreaking to see the story of each unfold. We pick up right where we left off. Ever is awake and struggling to heal every day. Cade is by her side and is providing her with 100% support, however, she knows something is wrong and broken in Cade. She can see his guilt, but she does not know who to reach him or what is causing it.

Eden has run away and is trying to figure out what the right thing to do is. During her time away she meets a man she does not and will never deserve (again my opinion).

We follow them as their lives leads to the moment the truth will come out and wonder what the fallout will be.

The story itself I felt grabbed you because you wanted to find out what will happen. What are the consequences?

I am finding myself struggling on how to rate this book, because I did feel robbed in some cases. Like there were some things missing, but overall, Jasinda Wilder told the story as she believes it should go and it was still an amazing story, even if we do not agree with all of it.

If I was rating this book on the content of this book alone, I would honestly give it 3 stars. Which is not bad, because it did grab me from the start, though I was terrified to continue reading it at times. But overall, I loved Ever and Caden and their story. So I will give it 4 stars.

Would I recommend this book and this series, yes, with the caution of if cheating is not for you, you definitely want to stay away from this, because this series will make you rant. But, if you are open minded and know there will be some things you will not agree it and probably not like, but still know this is an amazing story by an amazing writer, go read it. Just be prepared to be torn apart and exhausted by the time you are done. But is that not why we read? To feel the story?

Happy reading.

Saving Forever The Ever Trilogy Book 3 edition by Jasinda Wilder Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I hadn't read Jasinda Wilder's work before I started on this trilogy. I started on the first book, "Forever and Always" as just a book. Once I read it, I found that I needed, not wanted, to read the next book, "After Forever". Well, this story of Eden, Ever, and Caden went on to another book, "Saving Forever". I bought the book. Eden, at last, finds someone who loves her, just her, and who is perfect for her. I cannot give more to you about this series except that it is entertaining, intriguing, and completely believable. If you want a series to draw you into a story, this one by Jasinda Wilder is the one to get.
After the ending of the second book we were all left with that big bombshell, well actually several significant things happened but this one set the storyline for book three.

What I loved about this 3rd and final book was that there were two very separate love stories yet they were interwoven as well.

I loved reading about Eden and how she slowly begins to overcome her negative self-talk with some encouragement from Carter. Theirs is a sweet slow building friendship, he is exactly what she needs at this time in her life.

Ever and Caden’s story is riddled with guilt and heartbreak. These two are getting to know each other again and there are still things they need to discuss if they are to move forward with their future.

Eventually truths are revealed and there is a huge path of betrayal that will forever mark all of their lives.
I dove into this book immediately after the last one because I just had to see how it would all end. There was so much ground to cover and it wasn't going to be easy. While the writing was just as engaging in this book as the previous two, because there was no doubt about intense feels, there were parts of the story that didn't get the kind of attention that I wanted it to.

*Slight spoilers ahead*
Ever is slowly regaining all of her normal functions, but it requires a lot of time and energy and Cade is by her side for each and every step of the way. Devoted to Ever as always, Cade puts all of his energy into her recovery while he continues to wilt on the inside knowing that Ever will one day find out the truth and it will crush both of them. Yet Cade accepts this because he loves Ever so much and wants her happiness before his own.

Eden is hiding out in a house near the beach until she figure out what her plan is. In the meantime, she needs to be away from Ever and Cade and doesn't leave any trace of where she went. Unfortunately, I never became a fan of Eden throughout this book even though she made some major strides. Truthfully, Eden is probably the most real character of all three because of her flaws and insecurities that are not so different from other people. And maybe that is why I can't stand her, because those weaknesses are constantly highlighted in the story where I can't forget about them.

I was itching to get to the climax of the book, where Ever and Cade face Eden again and how all of the secrets would come to the surface. Except for the actual confrontation scene, the rest that followed was somewhat anticlimactic afterwards. I expected a bit more of a drawn out impasse between Ever and Cade with Cade desperately convincing Ever to hold onto them. I also wanted to be a witness to the conversation between Ever and Eden when they hashed things out. And maybe that is more of a testament to Ever's character more than anything, how she had already lost so much time knowing people were miserable in her absence that she didn't want to waste more time in an angry and unforgiving state. Cade and Eden were already in self-loathing and self-punishing state of mind and no one could move on until Ever granted her acceptance. It was all so incredibly complicated, gutting and heart wrenching. As for Carter, he's a really great guy and I'm glad that he came along, but there's a part of me that is frustrated that he was even in the book because of his role and whom he became important to. I wanted to focus to be primarily on Ever and Cade, whereas Carter wound up having his own side storyline because of Eden's involvement. This trilogy isn't for the faint of heart. The storyline gets very messy and conflicting. It pushes the characters into corners that make them face very abnormal circumstances with limited choices such that the outcome isn't rose colored with sunshine. It's more like broken shards of glass put back together with permanent scars left behind. Yet they all moved forward and made the best of it somehow.
