Note Stand alone book. 2nd of The Landry Brothers series.
EASY READ. Okay writing, likable characters, great supporting cast, strong family theme, and a lust filled romance. HOWEVER, same old, hot-lawman-protects-beautiful-target storyline, the dual crime plot added to the storyline but failed to hide the obvious villain(s), it was far-fetched that the heroine would accept another date after her first two dates were murdered, the lust-think was excessive and irritating, it was tiresome reading about the hero's hot body and the heroine's beauty, and the story just dragged in places, all of which detracted from the story.
THE STORY follows Sheriff Seth Landry and new-comer to town, vintage clothes saleswoman, Savannah Wyatt. With the first body, Seth interviewed his last date, Savannah. When the second body turned ups, he focuses on his last date, Savannah. By the third body, Savannah is arrested, but everything is not as it seems. Seth does not believe she is the killer, but instead may be the next victim. So, he sticks to her day and night, and as they spend time together a lusty romance develops. Unfortunately someone else has plans for Savannah and Seth must save her life before he can convince her that her future is with him.
OVERALL, intriguing storyline, but the uneven writing and excessive lust was annoying.
You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, R. C. Ryan, or L. Wilde. For good mystery/ detective writers you might try J. D. Robb, D. Stabenow, Gayle Wilson, or Julie Miller, or B.J Daniels.
Books grouped together great must have them all so glad for kindle download to save shelf space and be able to read again!
