This is a delightful collection of poems about love. It's an easy read, simple, and touching.
I have to be honest. I am not a poetry buff but Shannan has a way with words that I can relate.
I have to say my favorite poem is My Hero.
I recommend this short read for anyone in this genre. I am looking forward to more works from SLW.
This book truly tells the tale of a heart’s journey, with all of the raw emotion and feeling that such a journey entails. Never have I read something so incredibly open and genuine, and yet done with such finesse and sensitivity. I expected to read a series of poems on a common theme. I quickly realized that this was much more. This is an emotional journey through life.

Are you a poetry lover? This book is for you! What a beautiful collection of some extremely emotional poetry. Every poem you read instills some sort of feeling, whether is happiness, sadness or love... It's all there.
The author does an amazing job at leaving her heart on the paper through her words. Some of the poems reminded me of when I first met my husband, and all the teenage-like feelings I had. I will definitely turn to sections of this book in the future when I need a good poem to quote. I will be sure to share her work with many of my friends and am very much looking forward to reading more of her poetry in the future. )
I discovered this poetess through social media prior to the release of 'A Heart's Journey Through Poetry', her debut collection. This collection is divided up into four sections, each comprised of different genres of poetry. The largest section by far and the section that this writer seems to feel strongest about is the section of Love and Romance. Her romantic poetry fills up the bulk of her collection. The standout poems to me are 'Do You Remember That Night', 'Lotions and Potions', 'A Wonderful Place', 'Night time', 'Springtime', 'Don't Wish It Away', and 'Shine On'.
