The book is great. The examples help a lot. This book , I think, would be good in training officers and civilians both. It would protect all involved from manipulation. I think it sheds light on what happens. The " We do this when C.O. Smith is here" example I can't count how many times an inmate has tried that. I wish I had this book when I started.
Great book, inmate manipulation is a very serious consideration for every corrections Officer out there. They are studying us every minute that we are there and we need to be diligent not to become complacent.

Manipulation For a lot of us who were or are in Corrections information on the subject was very limited. You either got a little lecture from a veteran officer or you learned the hard way. Well now someone has written a book on this very subject; someone who ACTUALLY HAS EXPERIENCE as a Correctional Officer. The author, Anthony Gangi, shows the reader what manipulation is the cause & effect, and how officers can counter/fight it. Plus this book can be used as a training tool for Correctional Academies, Law Enforcement and it can be used in the business world as well. To put it bluntly....Mr. Gangi knows what he's talking about!!!! The world of Corrections is ever changing. And so are the games that the inmates are playing. The rules of these games are getting harder to follow and we as officers must be able to stay one step ahead in order to survive. Thank You Anthony Gangi for caring enough to write this book.
